Description:
For centuries, Ukrainian Christmas carollers carried a star as they went from house to house, singing carols. It symbolized the Star of Bethlehem, guiding the way to the birthplace of Christ. Today, the Christmas star has become a symbol of light overcoming darkness, of the joyful message carried by the carollers. It represents new life, renewal, and hope. Traditionally, the star was carried by the lead caroller at the front of the group. It was usually mounted on a long wooden pole and spun as the carollers sang, becoming a vibrant and captivating part of the celebration. The Christmas star has long been a symbol of hospitality and festive joy. We have crafted ours from rye straw. Its versatile design allows it to be displayed on a door or wall, or placed on a table, shelf, or sideboard as a timeless seasonal decoration.
